A host of former West Indies greats have paid
tribute to Brian Lara after the batsman revealed he was retiring
from all forms of cricket after Saturday, April 14th's World Cup
match against England.
Former fast bowling great Wes Hall says the record-setting
left-hander's legacy is fantastic and he was a great batsman.
Former opener and team-mate of Lara, Philo Wallace said his
retirement would be
"a big loss to world cricket", while former Windies captain
Jimmy Adams hailed Lara as a "genius". Meanwhile,
Ramnaresh Sarwan is favored to take over as skipper of the West
Indies team after Saturday's game against England. And he
has once again reiterated his desire to lead.
