TOUCHED

Printed in the July, 2005 edition of West Indian Times

A lot of brothers FEEL me
But not too many TOUCH me
Because their conversations be like broth ....
Lacking substance
But then I met you
And something cosmic swept through my orbit
I couldn't put my finger on it
It felt as though a portion of my soul was returned to me
When I looked into your eyes a porthole was opened
And I willingly entered because
I was compelled to explore your depths
As I submerged deeper into your dimensions
You had so much to offer
Almost too much to take
But I was like a dry sponge
Absorbing anything you dripped
I was awakened by your saturation
And propelled into consciousness from your stimulation
The inoculation of your wisdom strengthened my immunity to ignorance
Now I feel free.....
Free, Wild, Beautiful, Me
I didn't realize it until you came along that the I in me was lost
I said the I in me was lost
But I've been retrieved and given a reprieve to explore and fulfill my own destiny
As our fingers interlace and you guide me on this Spiritual Safari
I watch in sheer amazement as the light of GOD ignites our path
My hair was flowing
My soul was glowing
And my movements were unrestrained
I brace myself for entry
Because our union is eminent
I see you with all of my eyes
And I taste you with all of my lips
You loved me in the ways of Osiers
Going down to my underworld and
Reincarnating my spirit from all the broken hearts that killed it.
Damn, this thing feels good
You take me higher and higher
Finally we reach the realm ruled by Nut
Only to be gently transported back to reality
As we lay there naked with our souls exposed
I knew you were the one
Because a lot of brothers FEEL me
But few brothers TOUCH me
And the funny thing is.....
You were touching me all along and I just didn't know it......
