VIRGINIA BEACH 17TH STREET STAGE SHOW
The
resort area of Virginia Beach experienced a Reggae awakening
on Thursday, August 19th. The Reggae band
Nature’s Child, featuring a
special guest artiste performance by her Royal Highness
Empress Lioness, shook the Oceanfront. The event which was
supposed to be a normal Thursday night 17th street stage
show, quickly turned into a festival of one love 'a la
reggae riddims', which left the hundreds of onlookers
wanting more.
The
evening started with Nature’s Child, featuring Jorge, Dee, and
Young Lion doing their set of covers and original songs like
“ANGEL”, the first single off their forthcoming album,
THE FIRST SUPPER OF ONE PEOPLE.
The band had the crowd eating from their musical hands,
singing, waving, and chanting. Everyone knew from that point
if they hadn’t before, that Nature’s Child is the undisputed
reggae ambassador of Virginia Beach.
During
the B-SIDE promotional segment, Jorge and Empress Lioness
performed their hits from the album THE B-SIDE, produced by
YORLE of
Lion Werks, Virginia Beach’s
hot young Caribbean producer. The Empress Lioness performance
had the crowd going wild, putting up their lighters, hands,
and anything to pay homage to the crowned empress of
Richmond. She showed them exactly why she has been on
Soundclick.com’s Reggae and World music charts for the past
three months, featuring songs like “A
LITTLE BIT LONGER” and “HIGH
GRADE”.
At the end
of the evening, the patrons did not want to leave, demanding
one last song. That one last song quickly turned into three
with the final song sang by Jorge over the claps and cheers of
the audience, and by that time, without a microphone as the
band and stage crew began packing their equipment.
