On June 13, 2004, Black StarLiner Sound presented Reggae Fest Part 1 at Mitty’s in Newport News, VA.

The show began with MC Seko introducing the opening act which is one of Virginia’s finest based artists, Sleepy Wonder. Sleepy Wonder entered the stage wearing all white and the crowd welcomed him. He sang his sweet melodies and he was joined on stage by artist Ras Attitude. The duo warmed the crowd with their sweet tunes. The patrons danced and showed their love with applause and cheers. Ras Attitude sang love ballads to all the ladies. The two were joined by surprise guest artist, Pankhi who waved his flag back and forth as the three of them sang together. The crowd was hype and they sprang up with excitement as Pankhi began to sing his popular tracks “Glory” and “Journey”. The patrons edged closer to the stage as the trio hyped up the venue. After Pankhi left the stage, both Sleepy and Ras Attitude jumped on the floor as they sang, “War”, and as we are in the times of war, the song moved the patrons to flick their lighter and sing along.

As the stage was being set for the main act, the crowd was patient while listening to reggae music played by Black StarLiner Sound. Seko then introduced the band; Bambu Station who were the backing band for both IBA and Star Lion Family of St. Croix. IBA had the crowd on their feet. He performed for the patrons with enthusiasm and energy. The patrons were enticed by his lyrics and hung on his every word. His energy and vibe radiated throughout the audience and they embraced him. Then the Star Lion Family filled the venue with beautiful Caribbean’s tunes. Star Lion consist of three beautiful brothers who individually sang lead and harmonized together. The patrons applauded and made the artist feel comfortable. The performances of both IBA and Star Lion Family were sensuous and sultry. The night was filled with Caribbean sounds and reggae vibes. The show ended about 1:30am.
